Here families find a huge variety of leisure offerings, such as special family walks, children’s programmes, the Katschhausen children’s playground, the Tschu railway, treasure hunts, or the Ponyalm children’s zoo.
And if you are only just thinking about starting a family, the Katschberg is also the location of the highest registry office in Carinthia, the Marienkapelle church.
In winter the Katschberg offers around 70 kilometres of pistes with 100 percent reliable snow. Both beginners and advanced skiers or professionals will get their money’s worth here, and variety is guaranteed with torchlit hikes, night tobogganing, horse-drawn sleigh rides, snowshoe hikes and much more.
The Katschberg is closely associated with tradition, romantic ski lodges and delicious food.
Tip: The Advent trail. A circular trail of around 2.8 kilometres at 1,700 metres above sea level, with stopping points where you can still experience the pre-Christmas period in its traditional form, far removed from kitsch and commercialism.
